30 Hours Funded
Covering the Cost of Childcare
The Government’s 30 Hours Free Childcare Offering extends the standard 15 hours a week of government-funded early education for all 3 and 4-year-olds in England. If parents are living and working in England, their 3 and 4-year-olds may qualify for 30 hours of funded childcare, totalling up to 1,140 hours per year.
Eligible families can access the 30 funded hours from the term following the child’s 3rd birthday. Benefits of preschool attendance include enhanced social skills development and exposure to diverse learning opportunities through play, preparing children for the transition to formal education. The expansion in the number of attended days can contribute significantly to a child’s readiness for school in various aspects.
